Press Play and Exercise

Posted by Thea Davis Categories: Culture, Simulation

Kilowatt system Thanks to some new videogame/exercise equipment, gamers don’t have to choose between playing games and exercising. Kilowatt Pro, which is compatible with most videogames, connects to a television or to a videogame console, and requires players to physically interact in order to play the games. The intensity of the workout is misleading, as players don’t realize they are exercising. But the resistance and levels built into the machine insures players will use core muscles. There is also a Kilowatt system for kids.  Current pricing varies by model and ranges between $500 and $1,600.

I bet this gets only 1/1000th as much attention is when I said they all suck. Personally, the earlier report is more accurate. I really had to stretch to find something nice to say about this group of sites. There are a few, though, that I should have given more credit to, so this exercise is useful. Plus, now I'm far more prepared for later today when all the press releases come out.

At least , you are trying Robert :) And you are right, previous post definitely brought much more attention

Why did you even stretch? If you think the sites are bad, then why change that?

Make sure to check out ADAPX at the conference. Whether or not you are impressed with their web site, their technology has the potential to have a huge impact in our industry (digital mapping). One of the few truly innovative technologies I have seen in this space in the past few years.

Robert, I read the original post and agreed with it for the most part. Not sure why everyone is so sensitive. I don't think I'll be reading a post of 72 nice things about a bunch of startups, though....LOL. That's a lot of things.

Seriously, design is subjective.. If you think it sucks, then it sucks.. Why bother to humour the public? Everyone's entitled to having their own perception of beauty.

+1 @ Stu and Rasheen

Well...I'm one of the people who didn't like the controversial post that caused such drama in the tech space. However...I don't think this is necessary. Now, you did it and that's good. It's a great exercise..you are right. So I didn't agree with your post, that's OK. I still like reading what you have to write. That's the thing..most people will still read what you are writing. They may not agree with one post but..what's one post out of how many? The biggest stink was made by other bloggers and well..they like making stinks over every little thing. I do like this post..it's kind of the "say something nice" forum game people play but on a larger platform.

Yes, it is all a matter of taste, but it is the end user that will be the ultimate judge of these startups.

This made my day : Accordia Group, LLC; New Rochelle, NY; NICE? The contact us page has a real phone number.

Controversy draws readers. How do you think folks like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are so successful?
ryangraves ryangraves 9/7/08 11:52 pm

Not sure why you'd post this Scoble...so insincere. I hope it was a joke.

Nicely done Robert, I appreciate your gesture towards unbiased reporting, even if it was only an overture towards such.
Robert Scoble Robert Scoble 9/8/08 3:49 am

ryangraves: go ahead. Try to say something nice about every one of these sites. I dare you. Do a good job and I'll even link to you.
Roberto Bonini Roberto Bonini 9/8/08 3:51 am

Is that a chellenge, Robert?
